Hi,
If the person reading the Haftorah suddenly becomes unable to continue, the person who picks up for him goes back to the beginning of the Haftorah, but does not recite a new blessing on the Haftorah.
(Code of Jewish Law Orach Chaim 284:5)
Have a great day,
Mordechai

Hi,
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that the second person to "pick up" the Haftorah needs to return to the beginning. How does the obligation differ when reading Kohelet or Eichah which are often shared?
Hello Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteGood point. Based on the Taz there (#2), it seems that the difference is that the Haftorah has a berachah before and after. I don't think this answers the question entirely, but it points to an answer.
