Hi,
We have said that a man may not remain secluded with a woman who is prohibited to him. However, this prohibition does not apply in a space which is open to a public area.
(Shulchan Aruch Even haEzer 22:9)
Have a great day,
Mordechai

In the physician's office, then, does it make sense for the physician and patient (of opposite genders) to leave the door ajar? Or, does the access to public space suffice without leaving the door ajar?

Wait for the next posts... It's quite subjective, and I believe that if one is in an office where people specifically don't interrupt, then the yichud problem is much greater.
