Hi,
The prohibition against tattooing applies to cutting a groove in one's skin and then filling it with liquid ink or a dyeing powder, or placing the dyeing agent on a spot and then cutting a groove.

So what is being said, then, by conventional tattooing today by use of a needle and ink, one is not contravening the Law?
ReplyDeleteHi Darryl,
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it, the needle does make a hole in the skin, and the hole is then filled with ink. That's precisely the prohibition against making a groove and filling it with ink.
