Hi,
One who davens with nusach Ashkenaz may wear tefillin written according to the rules of the Ari (even though the Ari's followers daven with nusach Sfard). This is not considered inconsistent conduct.

While wearing ARI tefillin is kosher for one who follows Ashkenazic customs/Nusach, many, if not most, halachic authorities consider it to be not preferable.
ReplyDeleteI only intended to provide Rav Moshe's stance here, a part of a series on Rav Moshe's rulings. However, I would be interested in seeing references for the views of the many/most you cite.
